Preparing to Teach: 
Introducing Calm Classroom to your students and implementation strategies.
Program Check-In and Self-Care Foundations
Strengthening program implementation and beginning the discussion around teacher wellness and self-care.
Self-Care Planning: 
Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on different approaches to relieving stress and caring for their mental and emotional health outside of the classroom.
Community Care:  
The facilitator will guide participants through three simple exercises that they can do on their own and with students to help cultivate a positive mindset in and outside of the classroom.

Registering for this workshop automatically enrolls you in the 2025-26 Macomb New Teacher Academy.
First, second, and third year teachers are welcome to attend as many 2025-26 New Teacher Academy workshops as they choose for a yearly fee of $150.00. In this spring of 2026, Macomb County districts will be billed $150.00 per teacher participating in the Academy. Please check with your district regarding payment of this fee (whether you are responsible for payment).
The NTA will be providing a light meal before each afternoon workshop. In case of special dietary needs, participants should provide their own meals. Adjustments will not be made in menu selections or registration fees. 
This workshop is not eligible for Professional Development Funds.

The Macomb ISD is hosting The Adaptive Schools Foundational Learning Sessions as part of our Leadership Learning Series. Adaptive Schools provides a research-based framework to help school leaders develop a collective efficacy with their teams, leading to improved decision-making, instructional coherence, and a more adaptive school environment. The target audience are school leaders including, but not limited to, principals, central office administration, and coaches.
The cost of the Leadership Learning Series will be $250 per person for the full series. You will receive SCECHs for each session you attend up to 30 for the full series. All questions should be directed to asemanson@misd.net.

The Alternative Counselor Connection is a reoccurring monthly series open to school counselors and student success staff who work in a secondary alternative setting. This in-person workshop is geared toward exploring and creating a robust school counseling program unique to the needs of your student population with a heavy focus on career development and post-secondary planning.
SCECHs (pending state approval) which will be issued in a passport format. The SCECH application fee is $10 -  forms and fees will be collected on the last class date. Participants are highly encouraged to attend all sessions.
