Looking to take your professional practice to the next level with effective use of technology AND receive county-wide recognition all for FREE?
Participants will have 8 months to complete four self-paced online courses and four digital artifacts to support their blended learning growth. In addition to coursework support from the MISD IT Consultants and MADE Instructors, participants will have opportunities to network with fellow educators during four after-school sessions (dates listed below). This program is FREE.
Each of the four self-paced unit will now have windows of completion to finish all work before moving on to the next section.

In addition, strategies and tools for supporting all learners relative to math and language will be led by guest expert Karen Tzanetopoulos. Action plans will be made by teams to integrate their learning into district plans.

This course is a part of a series that aims to address accessibility issues on our website. This training is focused on documents created with Microsoft Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) that are then converted and distributed as PDFs.
To participate in this course, please bring your laptop and any documents that you would like to work on. Please try and have your source documents ready. If you have a PDF that was made in Word, try to get the original Word document for editing.
This course will be an open lab to work on documents together.

Registration opens at 7:00 am. Please sign in by 7:15 am.
There will be a working lunch break. A boxed lunch, with a bottled water, will be provided by MISD to those attending the Full Class.
Lunch will also be provided to those only attending the Exam. If you choose the $90.00 Exam only option at check out, please arrive to class at 12:00 pm for lunch. The Exam will begin at 1:00 pm.
If registering for the Full Class for the first time, you will receive a 9th Edition ServSafe Manager Book before class starts. The answer sheet will be given out at the Exam.
If registering for the Exam only, or retaking the Full Class, you will receive just an answer sheet at the Exam.
If the answer sheet is damaged by the participant, there will be an additional $50.00 fee for a replacement answer sheet. The invoice will be sent to the participant's employer. Payment must be received before receiving any materials.
It is highly recommend to read the entire ServSafe book prior to coming to the one-day class.
Registration is a commitment of payment. Payment must be received before session begins. All cancellations must be received in writing 7 (seven) days before the workshop date to Katie Hofford at khofford@misd.net. Participants canceling before 7 (seven) days MAY be eligible for the workshop reimbursement, or the fee waived, if the Serv Safe book, is returned in new condition. All cancellations AFTER the above date and/or a “no show to the workshop” will NOT be eligible for reimbursement. Payment WILL be the responsibility of the participant. All “non cancellation and/or no show” participants will be invoiced directly to their place of employment. A notice of this “payment due” invoice will also be sent to the district office notifying the school district of the “non-cancellation or no show” status of the participant.
Refunds will be reimbursed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase.

For participants who wish to apply for SB-CEU/SCECHs (if the program offers them), please see below: If applicable, for participants to earn SB-CEU/SCECHs, they must attend the entire program as required by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). This means attending all sessions according to the approved schedule including arriving on time and remaining for the duration of each session. The MDE and the Macomb ISD review all programs and monitor attendance. Failure to comply with program requirements, including attendance, will result in disallowance of SB-CEU/SCECH credit.
